YMCA

Parent-Child Programs

The YMCA is the place to join your neighbors and make new friends! Enjoy time together as a family in both structured and recreational programs. Parents and kids have fun, build bonds and develop friendships participating in sports, camping and community activities.

The Parent-Child Program is designed for parents and their children to spend more quality time with each other. In these programs Parents and their children are divided up into small age-appropriate, geographically desirable groups called Circles. Each Circle meets once a month at a Circle member's home. Circle meetings consist of games, stories, arts & crafts, and relationship building. All of the Circle groups make up an Expedition. Once a month there are large events for the Expedition, such as campouts, pinewood derby's, bowling parties, and family picnics.

The objectives of the program is to foster companionship and understanding and set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child, enhance the quality of family time, emphasize the vital role that parents play in growth and development of their children, and expand awareness of body, mind, and spirit.
